e6 is the best move (and the one roger played). but i don't think it quite forces mate. after e6, i played f6. then what?
Pawn to E7 threatening rook. If rook moves to E8, Queen takes pawn C7 threatening rook and potential mate shortly afterwards
Yes just played it out I missed fxg5. Guess that’s why I’m <1000 rated lol.
I looked at a couple of variations, Qxc7 seemed the next best move, I think Bxf6 may also lead to mate? I'm still unsure...
