The Generative AI use case article on HBR really took off. I’m told (by them) that it’s been the most popular article on the site since it’s been live. If you or your company would be interested in a talk on AI use cases or Timeboxing, just LMK by replying to this.

This newsletter is about the intentional use of time. I’ve been thinking this week that I need to find more time in my calendar, in my life, somehow. And so I’ve decided to send these newsletters out monthly now, instead of weekly, for the next few months at least. They’ll go out on the first Wednesday of each month, so the next post will be Wednesday 4th June.
I will also send out the occasional ad hoc newsletter. So overall quantity won’t change very much. And I will be able to focus that bit more on quality and depth (not length!)
I’m in Spain and I decided three weeks ago to take Spanish learning very seriously. So I’m enrolled in an intensive course which is two hours each day Mon-Fri, at a school near me. I also have 1-1 conversations for an hour with a tutor in Argentina most days. And I’m listening to Spanish podcasts whenever I drive and while I sleep (I’d be interested to hear from people that have done this to positive or otherwise effect).
Learning Spanish has been a goal of mine for far too long! But I am finally doing something (many things!) about it and in the process have had to make some trade-offs in my calendar.
I think this is, ironically, a perfect example of what I espouse in Timeboxing and in the 90-odd newsletters I’ve written so far. Give yourself the time and space to notice your intention. Turn that into a goal and then make a plan for it. And most plans that get achieved do so by living in a calendar. Voila, timeboxing.
And please be aware that you can reply to any of these emails. I’ll 100% get your reply, 100% read it, and almost certainly (95%) send something back!
Marc
